The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has numerous resources regarding child safety for parents, teens, tweens, children & even special needs kids. The NetSmartz® Workshop is an interactive, educational program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) that provides age-appropriate resources to help teach children how to be safer online, at school, in public, texting and in just about any context that could compromise or put a child in danger. Learning as they play games and watch videos, kids of all ages learn ways to be safe and resourceful while having fun.

For parents it is sometime difficult to find the right words to help protect their children with out instilling fear or paranoia. These games and tutorials can help get the discussion rolling for families and empower children to do what they know is right in order to keep themselves safe. There are also resources for parents as well; situations to be aware of, ways to help teach your children to be safe, and even ways to help a suffering child.

MoCHIP strongly encourages parents and children to utilize the resources available on NetSmartz, as education is the key to prevention, and prevention reduces the risk of child abduction. Go to: http://www.netsmartz.org/Parents.
